20 talented young Queenslanders are taking another step towards their dreams, with support from the 2026-27 Variety Heart Scholarships.
Together, the scholarships represent $100,000 in support, made possible through the generous support of the Grahame Mapp Family Foundation. We’re incredibly grateful for their investment in the potential of young people and the opportunities these scholarships help create.
From sport and music to dance and education, this year’s recipients are pursuing a wonderful range of interests and ambitions. Their scholarships can help make opportunities more accessible, whether that means developing new skills, accessing specialist training or taking the next step in their chosen field.

Change Takes All Of Us
Every child deserves the chance to explore, grow, and dream without limits. Their potential shouldn’t be defined by disability, illness, or financial hardship. We work to remove those barriers and open the doors to new possibilities.
For young Para swimmer Montana Atkinson, a dream of representing Australia on the world stage became a reality. With the support of a Variety Heart Scholarship, Montana was able to access vital training, coaching, equipment and competition opportunities, helping her develop her talent and pursue her passion for swimming.
Through years of dedication, resilience and hard work, Montana went on to represent Australia as Para Dolphin #P337 at the Pan Pacific Para Swimming Championships in California, USA.
From a young girl with a big dream to an athlete wearing the green and gold, Montana's journey is a powerful reminder of what can happen when potential is given the opportunity to shine.
