The Variety Queensland EduKids Grant helps improve educational outcomes by funding essential back to school stationery items for students experiencing financial hardship.

Variety Queensland partners with Stationery Aid to provide students with tailored stationery packs based on their school booklist. Once an application is approved, the student's booklist and supporting details are provided to Stationery Aid, whose team carefully prepares a stationery pack suited to the child's year level and educational needs.

The packs are created using repurposed and gently used educational resources collected from across South East Queensland and Mackay, supporting both sustainability and educational equity. Stationery packs are prepared and sent as grants are approved. Please allow at least 4 weeks from the date you were notified that your application was approved (not simply submitted) to receive your pack.

Please note that Variety Queensland is responsible for processing applications only. The packing and distribution of stationery packs is managed by Stationery Aid. Eligibility
To apply for an EduKids Grant, your child/family must:
  • Reside in Queensland
  • Be aged 5 to 17 years (must be under 18 at the time of application)
  • Be enrolled and attending, or planning to attend, school in 2027
  • Be affected by financial disadvantage, geographical isolation, disability, or chronic illness
  • Have a current school stationery or booklist available for upload - only official booklists from the school will be accepted
  • Total household income after tax must not exceed $8,000 per month
Important Information
Applications open on Monday 16 November 2026. Funding for the EduKids Grant program is limited, and applications will remain open until Sunday 10 January 2027.

Until all available funding has been allocated, whichever occurs first. We encourage families to apply as early as possible.

Please note

  • Stationery packs are prepared based on the school booklist provided and cannot be customised or amended.
  • Packs will be delivered to the address provided in the application.
  • Retrospective requests for stationery that has already been purchased are not eligible.
  • A maximum of 3 children per family may be supported through the program.

Frequently Asked Questions

Packs generally include standard school supplies such as exercise books, pens, pencils, folders, and other classroom essentials. Where available, Stationery Aid may also be able to provide specialised educational items listed on your child's booklist.

Items such as school uniforms, shoes, backpacks, lunchboxes, electronic devices, gift cards, vouchers, and other non stationery products are not included. Only essential stationery items are included in EduKids stationery packs.

Yes. If your child's school booklist includes required stationery items for specialised subjects, and these items are identified in your application, Stationery Aid will endeavour to include them in the stationery pack where available. If an item is unavailable and cannot be substituted, Stationery Aid will contact you directly.

Stationery Aid will endeavour to include all relevant resources identified on the booklist that is uploaded with your application. We also ask you to identify the subjects that are relevant and need fulfilling. If an item is unavailable and cannot be substituted, Stationery Aid will contact you directly.

You can expect your stationery pack(s) to arrive by post within approximately 4 weeks of receiving notification that your application has been approved.

Variety Queensland is responsible for processing applications only. Once your application has been approved and you have received a confirmation email, your application is passed on to Stationery Aid, who manage the packing and distribution process

If it has been more than 4 weeks since you were notified that your application was approved (not simply submitted) and your pack has not arrived, please contact Stationery Aid directly at admin@stationeryaid.org.
